Who we are
Tynmas Labs ("Tynmas Labs", "we") is a digital manufacturing company at 124 Manyani East Road, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions about your data go to info@tynmaslabs.com or WhatsApp 0799 315 334.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email, and organisation or school if you give one.
- Project details: the files, sketches, photos, measurements and descriptions you send, the material and quantity you choose, and our quotes and invoices.
- Payment records: the amount, method and reference (for example an M-Pesa confirmation code). We do not store card numbers.
- Course records: the programme you register for, attendance and payments.
- Website data: standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) kept by our hosting provider for security. We remember your light or dark theme choice in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To prepare quotes, make and deliver your order, and contact you about it (performance of a contract).
- To run courses and send schedules and reminders.
- To keep financial records required by Kenyan tax law (legal obligation).
- To answer your questions and improve our service (legitimate interests).
- To send occasional news or offers, only if you have agreed. You can opt out at any time.
Your designs and files
Your files and designs remain yours. We use them only to quote, model, print and support your project, we do not share or reuse them, and we are happy to sign a reasonable NDA before you send anything sensitive.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, under their own security terms:
- Website hosting and file storage (Vercel).
- Our customer and order database (Supabase).
- Email delivery for form notifications and receipts (Web3Forms and Resend).
- WhatsApp, when you choose to message us there.
- Couriers and riders, who receive your name, phone and delivery address to deliver your order.
Some of these providers store data outside Kenya. We use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep design files for up to 12 months after your job so we can reprint or adjust it, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Quotes, invoices and payment records are kept for at least five years for tax purposes. Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted after 24 months.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data, where we do not need to keep it by law;
- stop or limit how we use it, including withdrawing consent to marketing.
Email info@tynmaslabs.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya.
Security
Access to customer records is limited to our team, protected by individual sign-ins, and stored with providers that encrypt data in transit and at rest.
Children
Students under 18 can join Tynmas Edu programmes with the consent of a parent, guardian or their school, who provides and manages their details with us.
Changes
We will update this page if the way we handle data changes, and show the new date at the top. See also our Terms of Service and Delivery and Returns.
